This site is dedicated to investigating the music of American composer Louise Talma (1906-1996).  Talma's compositional output comprised more than forty major works, including four orchestral pieces and a full-scale three-act opera.  In her lifetime she was honored with the most prestigious grants and accolades- Fulbright, Guggenheim, National Endowment for the Arts, and many others- and yet her music is still not adequately known or appreciated today.
You are invited to join the Louise Talma Society and participate in the exchange of information, through this website and through various other channels.  There is no fee for membership in the Society.  The aim of the Society is to make Talma's work known to a larger public, and to come to a fuller understanding of her contribution by the study of her work.
